S & E Renovations was forged from a need for custom renovations by two unique individuals Sam Green & Eric DeVaughn. Sam & Eric crossed paths in the late 1990’s. Sam, born & raised on a farm in Kansas got an early start with his parents in the road construction business. This gave him an extensive background in operating construction equipment. As any young man looking to better himself he enrolled in a business program @ KSU. He applied those new skills and opened a remodeling business. Those skills paid off in many ways as his business grew. After working through many tough winters he chose to leave behind a very successful business to find what most retirees come to Florida for. Sunshine!
Eric having spent most of his life in Florida started building homes in the early 80’s. This blossomed into a successful career in building large custom homes in Sarasota County. With hands on kind of approach he learned the principles of design and the importance of the basics that produce a functional and useful living environment. Time taught him what it took to be a craftsman in the industry. Working one on one with clients through the building process has developed lasting friendships.
Sam approached Eric in the late 90’s looking for a place to get to get started. Sam jumped right in with Eric in the Custom Home market. The market was booming and the trades were getting harder to schedule. Sam & Eric strapped on their tool belts and with countless years of experience between them finished many projects. Sam suggested bidding on remodeling projects that required that hands on approach and attention to detail. With the start of a great relationship the two decided to form a new partnership in specializing in custom remodeling. In January 2000 they incorporated under the name of S & E Renovations. Sales took off and were now faced with a new challenge, how to complete those jobs. With the hands on approach to construction we started to hire employees vs. sub contracting the work. As we hired on more help, we taught them the basic skills of honesty, integrity and the talents we were instilled with. Some have even taught us a thing or two over the years. Today with the original employees on hand we would consider them our family.
